Mecha Mayhem Signature Event
Team 221S, 2025
Canada’s biggest robotics competition with over 200 teams from around the world. The goal here was reinforcing the chassis so it would be tough enough to survive heavy defense while refining our lift angles to easily score rings on low mobile goals and high wall stakes. I also built a quick autonomous selector so we could swap routines on the fly to match whatever our alliance partners needed.

Going up against the region's top alliances meant zero room for error, so we put our updated engineering documentation and a ironed-out mechanical build to the ultimate test to battle through high-pressure elimination brackets.

Westwood Robotics Tune Up Competition
Team 221S, 2025
Our final dry run right before Mecha Mayhem. We gave the robot a fresh look with custom black and pink color accents and went through every single metal and electrical piece to make sure nothing was bent or out of spec. By cutting the weight down to 15 lbs, tightening up our PID loops, and tweaking the arm, we finally got consistent scoring on both high and low goals locked down.

STEM Innovation Academy Tournament
Team 221S, 2024
This event brought a complete ground-up redesign. Our first robot was a heavy 30 lbs, which meant the drivetrain motors would overheat and thermal throttle after just one match. We trimmed it down to a 20 lbs, added high-goal scoring, and implemented in PID and odometry for way better autonomous precision. A lot of late-night testing went into fixing intake tension issues and making our mobile goal clamp actually reliable, which paid off with the Design Award.

World's Most Northern VEX Tournament
Team 221S, 2024
Our very first competition and season opener. As the lead builder and programmer, I ended up pulling double-duty as the primary driver for this event. Getting ready meant a massive sprint of rapid prototyping and writing our initial autonomous routines completely from scratch.
